No matter what, whenever I play Halo, I seem to get matched up with people who are WAY better than I am.  I don’t know if it’s some grand master plan by the good folks at Bungie to make me stop playing, but it’s annoying.  Seeing as multiplayer with your friends is really the only reason to be playing the Halo series in the first place, making that frustrating probably isn’t helping.  Though really, after they’ve got your $60 what do they care how much you play it, as long as you’ll forget your immense frustrations by the time Halo 4 inevitably comes out.  Which it will.  You don’t sell 7 million copies of a game and then not make a sequel.  I don’t care if Bungie is now “independent” again.

For those of you still angered by my first paragraph… I don’t love the Halo series.  I have played them all thoroughly, as one is apt to do if ones friends constantly partake.  I just don’t find the single player storylines compelling.  The universe is interesting, but as I love fictional realities me enjoying it isn’t terribly surprising.  There just isn’t that innovation that sets it apart from a hundred other shooters and space operas.  It’s competent, and the grenade/melee/shooting keeps multiplayer decently interesting, but that’s it.  It’s slow and just doesn’t hold my interest unless I’m playing with friends.  And really, if Halo is okay with being an occasional friend, so am I.
